About the Department
Our education and research focuses on health, hotel and restaurant, retail, tourism, logistics and gender equality issues in customer-oriented service organisations within the service sector of the economy.
We offer a broad and varied education with three bachelor´s degree programmes and one master’s degree programme which all focuses on the service sector and the service society. Our aim is to be the first choice for students who are looking for an internationally recognised and interdisciplinary education in leadership and management.
We are a department of internationally competitive and high-quality research in service studies. Teachers, professors and doctoral students at our department contribute with interdisciplinary perspectives, and with research in several fields of social sciences. Furthermore, the department has a third cycle programme with almost twenty doctoral students in the field of service studies.
Besides our academia we value our partners outside our university. We work closely with other universities as well as with companies and organisations in the service industry. These partnerships are crucial to the development of our programmes and our research.
To continue on our successful path in research and education, we are always looking for new international opportunities and relationships.
