C. Michael Hall receives honorary doctorate

Professor C. Michael Hall from the University of Canterbury, New Zeeland has been awarded an honorary doctorate from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Lund University. He has made significant contributions in research and education at the Department of Service Management and Service Studies.

He continually contributes with knowledge that strengthens our education and research, and that is something we value highly,” says Christer Eldh, Head of the Department of Service Management and Service Studies.

C. Michael Hall is a Professor of Marketing at the Department of Management, Marketing and Entrepreneurship at the University of Canterbury, New Zealand.

He has longstanding teaching, publication and research interests in tourism, regional development and environmental change. Recently his research has focused on wine and food marketing and gastronomy.

He is a member of senior editorial teams of three journals (all Web of Science/Scopus listed) and a member of 20 other editorial boards.

In addition he is an editor of four different book series, and an author and editor of over 75 books as well as over 500 refereed journal articles and book chapters. He is one of the most cited authors in tourism studies and human geography.

The new honorary doctorates are conferred on 27 May 2016.
