Research themes

There is a major need for cross-boundary research to address complex societal challenges. Approximately two-thirds of the EU’s economy consists of services – both public and private. The service sector spans a number of different areas, from trade and tourism to e.g. healthcare, school and communications – areas currently facing major challenges, but that also offer many opportunities.

The department’s lecturers, professors and doctoral students contribute with their research expertise from more than ten disciplines. Our research is conducted in close collaboration with organisations, industry and decision makers. Through a broad interdisciplinary profile, the research has unique opportunities to contribute to sustainable development in line with Agenda 2030.
