Service Studies at the department of service management and service studies
Service Studies is an interdisciplinary research area at the Department of Service Management and Service Studies. The need to understand and explain our complex service society is growing and therefore research in service studies becomes significant.

Six research themes

Our vision is to be a world-leading research department in the field of service studies, thus we concentrate our research to several active research areas:

Knowledge development in various service organization

We problematize and develop knowledge about leadership, management, organization and practice in various service organizations. We also analyze production and consumption of services as well as the economic, social and environmental consequences it has. We present different perspectives on the terms and conditions of service, as well as study communication and interaction in connection with various service meetings.

Our width covers many areas

We have a wide multidisciplinary research profile. Our areas include welfare research, interaction research, process orientation, innovation, sustainability issues, human resources, collaboration processes and the professionalization of services. The research is closely linked to the institution's education programs and includes phenomena such as tourism, retail, health, logistics, equality and hotel.

Many different phenomena are studied

Our scientific width is expressed in several major projects, and we study phenomena like shopping, health, waste, tourism experiences, heritage, place development, public transport, sustainable fishing and coastal development, etc. Some of our research also focuses on the ongoing changes that take place in our immediate proximity, such as Helsingborg's urban renewal project H +.
